It’s time for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk 2008! I was very fortunate to become familiar with an elderly gentleman who began to suffer from Alzheimer’s in his last years, so I know the devastating effect that this disease can have on friends and family, as well as the sufferer. Seeing what it did to him was hard and I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for him. Instead of sitting back, pondering these things and these questions, it’s time to take action. By supporting the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, the nations largest event of its type, you can help raise awareness as well as all important funds for the cause that will go to care and research.

A 2-3 mile walk is worth helping someone, isn’t it?

There are walks in over 600 communities and you can sign up to be a team captain and lead others in this wonderful event. You don’t even have to be a walker to be a captain, to bring others to know about the Alzheimer’s cause. Through you, as a captain, you can inspire others. The Alzheimer’s Association has all sorts of helpful tip guides on their website to help you, captain or not, get together a team and raise funds. It doesn’t matter how old you are, everyone can take part in fighting the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.
